In this tutorial you will learn how to set up the slideshow on inner pages in the Paramount WordPress theme.
The slideshow can display all the images that were uploaded to a post or page. The process is similar in both the Classic Editor and the Block Editor.
Let’s start with the Classic Editor.
Let’s edit a post or a page where we would like to enable the slideshow.
On the right side of the screen, find the Custom Options meta box. Make sure that the Featured Image select field is set to Display and that the “Display Slideshow” checkbox is enabled.
Save your changes by clicking the Publish or the Update button.
Now let’s upload some photos.
Click on the Add Media button and open the Upload Files panel. Select some of your photos and wait for them to be uploaded. Once that is finished, simply close this pop-up window by clicking on the X in the top-right corner. There is no need to click the “Insert into post” button.
Now simply save your changes and open the page.
If you are using the Block Editor, currently there is no separate button to open the Media Library. As a workaround, open the Featured Image panel and click the Set Featured Image or Replace Image if you already have one.
This will open the Media management panel and you can repeat the same process as shown for the Classic Editor.
There are two ways to see which images are attached to a page or post and can be displayed by the theme’s built-in slideshow.
First, on the Edit page screen, click the Add Media button and open the Media Library panel. There, find the Filter Media dropdown and switch from “All Media Items” to “Uploaded to this post”. This will display the list of images that are attached to this post or page. If you don’t see any photos, then the slideshow has nothing to display and will not work.
The second method is to open the Library page in the Media section of the Dashboard.
Switch from the default Grid mode to List mode.
In the “Uploaded to” column you can see what page or post an image belongs to.
You can also Detach and Attach the photos to a different page.
